Background
Nakedpress is a cold-pressed juice company that was founded in 2015. Based on medical journals and customer case studies, Nakedpress continues to develop a variety of beverages that are rich in benefits from vegetables and fruit.
In addition, they also continue to innovate in how to use technology to sell and interact with their customers.
For almost 3 years, Dewi Kusuma (Founder & CEO of Nakedpress) has been directly involved with the help of several freelance developers. Until early 2019, Nakedpress met with Studio Alva.
MISSION #1
Redesigning the look and user experience in shopping
PROBLEM
The website design wasn't aligned with the brand they were developing and didn't quite pay attention to the user experience aspect.
CHALLENGE
Collaborating with a branding agency and the in-house Nakedpress team to build a store-front that is visually aligned with the brand vision, easy, and comfortable to use.
OUTCOME
A new Shopify Plus website launched in 5 months
What we did
We love working with Nakedpress because we share the same vision, to create a beautiful store-front website while prioritizing the user experience.
We strived to improve learnability, especially for new customers in understanding Nakedpress products. We also fixed some usability issues along the customer-buying journey so that customers can shop quickly and conveniently.
In addition we also:
- Developed a design system for faster and more consistent future development
- Built a block-system homepage for easier content changes
- Improved the checkout UX to fit Indonesian users' mental model




MISSION #2
Building a subscription-based order feature
PROBLEM
There is a need for loyal Nakedpress customers to buy products regularly. Initially, it was handled manually by the CS team and used product listings where customers had to uncomfortably add additional notes. The demand continued to increase until it overwhelmed the CS team and several problems arose.
CHALLENGE
Creating a new concept to accommodate the needs of loyal customers who have the habit of regularly buying Nakedpress products.
OUTCOME
A new feature created with the aim of providing convenience for customers to be able to order in large quantities and with different delivery schedules. In addition to helping the work of the CS team and operations with the standard format of orders for subscriptions.
What we did
The biggest challenge in building this custom feature is building the best possible user experience on the Shopify platform. One of the limitations we found was that we had to take advantage of the data structures already available from Shopify to enter orders in a subscription format.
Some of the things we do:
- Designing an independent subscription page
- Creating pages to manage schedules and orders
- Preparing several different order formats
- Developing additional applications that interact via API and webhook
